Community Based Care (CBC)

After working in the heart of northern Uganda since 2003, one thing has remained clear: The need to reach more children. The threats facing these children include on of the highest rates of AIDS in the world, extreme poverty, unsafe water and diseases running rampant.

In 2018, we launched Community Based Care (CBC) to allow orphaned and vulnerable children to benefit from Otino Waa’s programs, while continuing to live in their home villages. Most of the children we aid with CBC have lost one or both parents, but still have a capable relative or guardian desiring to care for them. With CBC, we provide education, medical care, and nutrition for the children while simultaneously working to bring hope and stability to the families and communities.

Working together with the local church and pastors network, the CBC model has allowed us to serve exponentially more children than ever before.
